YOU CAN RECOVER ALL
By Evangelist John Fuggiano
WHEN THE AMALEKITES INVADE YOUR ZIKLAG
1 Sam 30:1 And it came to pass, when David and his men were come to Ziklag on the third day, that the Amalekites had invaded the south, and Ziklag, and smitten Ziklag, and burned it with fire; (KJV)
1 Sam 30:2 And had taken the women captives, that were therein: they slew not any, either great or small, but carried them away, and went on their way. (KJV)
What the Amalekites were to Israel in general, and to David in particular, is what Satan is to the Church. Satan is constantly fighting the saints and always seeking to destroy the Church. But he is already a loser, for the gates of hell cannot overthrow the Church of God. The Bible says, Matt 16:18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. (KJV) Satan is your "Amalekite". He seeks to invade many homes, churches, families, lives, and businesses. He has burned down many "Ziklags" with fire and ruined many families. The Devil is a thief and a murderer; his mission is to kill, steal and destroy. Jesus said, John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. (KJV)
WEEPING ENDURES FOR A NIGHT
1Sam 30:4 Then David and the people that were with him lifted up their voice and wept, until they had no more power to weep. (KJV) The Devil, your enemy, wants you to cry in shame and defeat. It is the joy of your "spiritual Amalekites" to see you disappointed, disturbed, discouraged, distressed, disgraced, defeated, dethroned, disarmed, discomfited, demoted, depressed, and if possible, dead or destroyed.
YOUR WEEPING WILL SOON END
Your condition is not permanent. You will not cry all your life; your tears come to an end. As Jesus said concerning Lazarus, "this sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God" (John 11:14), so is your condition. Your weeping shall turn to dancing; for there is time for everything Ecc 3:2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; (KJV) Ecc 3:2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; (KJV) Ecc 3:3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; (KJV) This is not God's desire concerning you. There is a time and place for weeping. Therefore, wipe off your tears and trust God to help you do something to recover all. Rise in confidence and say to your "Amalekites," Mic 7:8 Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD shall be a light unto me. (KJV)
STEP ONE: ENCOURAGE YOURSELF IN THE LORD
1Sam 30:6 And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God. (KJV)
ENCOURAGE YOURSELF Thus, David was virtually left to stand alone, for all his friends turn against him. But, instead of failing, fleeing or quitting, "David encouraged himself in the Lord." In times of distress or grief, take strength from the Lord. He is your strength, your unfailing Strength. The word of God declares, Prov 18:10 The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe. (KJV)
Isa 43:1 But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine. (KJV)
Isa 43:2 When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. (KJV)
Psalm 27:1 The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? (KJV)
Psalm 27:2 When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell. (KJV)
Psalm 27:3 Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident. (KJV)
STEP TWO: ENQUIRE OF THE LORD
1Sam 30:8 And David inquired at the LORD, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all. (KJV) Wait Upon The Lord Waiting upon the Lord strengthens the believer inwardly and keeps his head above the "waters." You cannot "faint" or "go under," when you rest on the Lord. Moreover, God confirms His will concerning His will concerning us, when we wait upon Him.
Isa 40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. (KJV)
HOW TO ENQUIRE OF THE LORD
1.Enquire Through Prayer: 2.Enquire From the Word: 3.Seek to be counseled:
STEP THREE: PREPARE FOR WAR
1Sam 30:9 So David went, he and the six hundred men that were with him, and came to the brook Besor, where those that were left behind stayed. (KJV)
Get ready for total war. Prepare for war. You are now about to wrestle with your "Amalekites," but you need to prepare for it.
Joel 3:9 Proclaim ye this among the Gentiles; Prepare war, wake up the mighty men, let all the men of war draw near; let them come up: (KJV)
Joel 3:10 Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruning hooks into spears: let the weak say, I am strong. (KJV)
DECLARE WAR ON SATAN's WAR
This is time to declare war on Satan's war. Satan has done his worst; he has invaded your territory, stolen your life's investment, taken your wife and children captive and burnt down your territory. Now it's your turn to fight back. Now is the time to excise your God given authority over his domain.
Luke 10:19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. (KJV)
STEP FOUR: PURSUE YOUR AMALEKITES
1Sam 30:8 And David inquired at the LORD, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all. (KJV)
1Sam 30:9 So David went, he and the six hundred men that were with him, and came to the brook Besor, where those that were left behind stayed. (KJV)
The word pursue, comes from the Hebrew word radaph, which means to run after, chase, put to fight, follow after or to follow with the intent to capture or overtake. The Christian soldier should be spiritually violent in battle.
Matt 11:12 And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force. (KJV) David testified his victory over his enemies, when he said,
2Sam 22:37 Thou hast enlarged my steps under me; so that my feet did not slip. (KJV)
2Sam 22:38 I have pursued mine enemies, and destroyed them; and turned not again until I had consumed them. (KJV)
2Sam 22:39 And I have consumed them, and wounded them, that they could not arise: yea, they are fallen under my feet. (KJV)
2Sam 22:40 For thou hast girded me with strength to battle: them that rose up against me hast thou subdued under me. (KJV)
STEP FIVE: LOCATE YOUR ENEMY Stop Fighting The Wrong Person
Who are your "Amalekites"? --Where is your "Amalekite"? The" Amalekites" responsible for the destruction of your "Ziklag" and the captivity of your possessions must be located, before you can "recover all."
Satan and his demons are our enemies. The Devil may use men or things, but he is the chief enemy behind our failures, defeats and distress.
Eph 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. (KJV)
1Pet 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: (KJV)
STEP SIX: INVADE THE ENEMY'S TERRITORY
1Sam 30:16 And when he had brought him down, behold, they were spread abroad upon all the earth, eating and drinking, and dancing, because of all the great spoil that they had taken out of the land of the Philistines, and out of the land of Judah. (KJV)
Take Your "Amalekites" By Surprise David invaded the camp of the Amalekites while they were totally unprepared. David met them in a state of complacency and struck at once.
The Lords of the Philistines, Samson captors, were totally unprepared when Samson launched his final blow.
Judges 16:23 Then the lords of the Philistines gathered them together for to offer a great sacrifice unto Dagon their god, and to rejoice: for they said, Our god hath delivered Samson our enemy into our hand. (KJV)
Judges 16:24 And when the people saw him, they praised their god: for they said, Our god hath delivered into our hands our enemy, and the destroyer of our country, which slew many of us. (KJV)
Samson was not finished yet, he was secretly planning for a come back. It was while they were celebrating that Samson took them all by surprise.
Judges 16:25 And it came to pass, when their hearts were merry, that they said, Call for Samson, that he may make us sport. And they called for Samson out of the prison house; and he made them sport: and they set him between the pillars. (KJV) Samson took them all by surprise; he took advantage of their complacency and destroyed them all.
Judges 16:29 And Samson took hold of the two middle pillars upon which the house stood, and on which it was borne up, of the one with his right hand, and of the other with his left. (KJV)
Judges 16:30 And Samson said, Let me die with the Philistines. And he bowed himself with all his might; and the house fell upon the lords, and upon all the people that were therein. So the dead which he slew at his death were more than they which he slew in his life. (KJV)
Reverse The Order
Notice that while you have been weeping for your losses, until you have been totally exhausted {1Sam.30:4}, your enemies have been "eating, drinking and dancing" (verse 16), over your losses and defeat. God is going to turn their dancing into mourning and your mourning into dancing.
STEP SEVEN: SMITE YOUR AMALEKITES AND RECOVER ALL
1Sam 30:17 And David smote them from the twilight even unto the evening of the next day: and there escaped not a man of them, save four hundred young men, which rode upon camels, and fled. (KJV)
1Sam 30:18 And David recovered all that the Amalekites had carried away: and David rescued his two wives. (KJV)
1Sam 30:19 And there was nothing lacking to them, neither small nor great, neither sons nor daughters, neither spoil, nor any thing that they had taken to them: David recovered all. (KJV)
1Sam 30:20 And David took all the flocks and the herds, which they drave before those other cattle, and said, This is David's spoil. (KJV) Now is the time to start recovering all your "Amalekites" have stolen from you. But you need to smite them first; you need uncompromisingly and ruthlessly with those "Amalekites." God has placed in your hands, mighty spiritual weapons that your " Amalekites" cannot resist. Therefore, go on your knees and begin to bombard them with this weapon.
2Cor 10:3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (KJV)
2Cor 10:4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) (KJV) FIGHT THEM WITH THE NAME OF JESUS; USE THE POWER OF PRAISE; FIGHT WITH THE WORD; DESCEND UPON THEM WITH THE BLOOD; ABOVE ALL, DON'T FORGET YOUR "FIRE POWER," THAT IS, PRAYER.
